Teaching staff use the P scales to assess pupils, through observation and recording throughout the year, leading to a teacher assessment being completed each Summer term and reported to families in the End of Year report sent home each July.
P scales are assessment criteria that have been developed to help assess pupils who are working below level 1 of the National Curriculum. The P scales are split into eight different levels with P1 being the lowest and P8 the highest. Assessing pupils using the P scales help teaching staff to make and record judgements about pupil attainment at the end of a year and also look at how pupils are maintaining, developing and transferring skills. Further information about the P scales can be found on the QCDA website. |
